KK Nails: Sally Hansen Nail Prisms- Diamond Swatch

Today, I have a swatch of the second holo I ever tried! Sally Hansen Nail Prisms, Diamond!

I'm sorry, for the pictures. My camera, did not want to cooperate with me today, I couldn't get a good picture of all the holo goodness!

This polish took 3-4 coats, to be opaque, and it was very easy to apply. It wasn't rough at all! This polish shows the holo, even after a topcoat, is put on!

This is the best picture, I could take, that would show the holo,

Here's what it looks like, NOT under the sun.

And here's the matching ring I made! It also shows holo in it!

There are only 3 more Sally Hansen Nail Prisms I need to swatch. Stay tuned!

The Nail Polish Tag!

Hello, everyone! Today me and two of my BNPFF's, (Best Nail Polish Friends Forever) Myline and Pam, made a nail poilsh tag!  Check out my BNPFF's blogs here and here. I even made the graphic!!

The rules are very simple:
1. Answer the 10 questions.
2. Pass this tag to 5 other bloggers.
3. Make sure the bloggers that you tagged, knows that you tagged them, by sending them a comment on their blog.

Now, here are the questions:

  1. How many nail polishes do you have?
  2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish?
  3. Do you like crackle polish, or do you hate it?
  4. What is your first nail polish brand?
  5. If you're going to have a nail polish line, what are you gonna name it?
  6. What nail polish color does not compliment you?
  7. And what color does compliment you?
  8. Name two of your best nail art friends?
  9. What was the best nail polish gift you have ever received?
  10. Make a speech about thanking the blogger who gave you this tag.
Here are my answers:

  1. How many nail polishes do you have? So far, I have 102 polishes! But there is still room for more.
  2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish? I don't really have a favorite brand, I love all of my polishes! But I have to say that I really like Sally Hansen, Pure Ice, and Bootie Babe. I also like China Glaze, OPI, and Color Club, but I don't have those brands yet! :P
  3. Do you like crackle polish, or do you hate it? I love crackle polish! It adds a nice, quick, and easy nail art!
  4. What is your first nail polish brand? My first nail polish brand was Revlon, because Revlon is always on sale. That's why I still buy Revlon polishes to this day. :)
  5. If you're going to have a nail polish line, what are you gonna name it? That would be soooo awesome if  I had my own nail polish line! I would probably name it KK Nails, so that people would know that i have a blog too LOL! And I would probably name one of the polishes Kirshten because I have never seen a polish named Kirshten before! :P
  6. What nail polish color does not compliment you? I think that most of the colors compliment my skin, but I think neon's don't compliment my skin too well.
  7. And what color does compliment you? Reds, pinks and purples, compliment my skin very well!
  8. Name two of your best nail polish friends? Pam, and Myline. I talk to them, everyday about nail polish! I also have other nail polish friends, but it says to only name two. :(
  9. What was the best nail polish gift you have ever received? A nail art kit I received from my Daddy, it included 6 nail polishes, stencils, a nail art brush and more!
  10. Make a speech about thanking the blogger who gave you this tag.
I didn't really receive this tag from anyone, since me and my friends made it. LOL :P So I will thank myself, Pam, and Myline, for giving me the honor to answer these questions!

The people I tag for this award are:

Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails
Trace from The Trace Face Philes
Lindsey from Neverland Nail Blog
Carrie from Reflections, Sassy Nails, and Silly Diversions.
Leslie from Polish Art Addiction

I wish I can tag more than 5, but those are the rules!

Thanks for reading all about me and my nail polish! I appreciate it!

KK Nails: Sally Hansen Nail Prisms- Mandarin Garnet Swatch

Today, I will show you a swatch of my FIRST holo polish, Mandarin Garnet!

Mandarin Garnet is a glitter holo, it isn't a very intense holo, but I still love it! Its a coral/pink shade and this is 3-4 coats. :) And it applied smoothly, so I don't have any problems with this polish!
    Close-up!! Oooooooo....
I even made a matching nail polish ring! It was hard to take pictures of though, because my shadow kept getting in the way.

    Here's another shot,

    One more close up! hehehe..

I hope these pictures sufficed your holo hunger!! LOL :P
Stay tuned for my next holo polish!

    KK Nails: Bari Cosmetics Samples

Before I start my post, I wanted to tell you, that my 100 follower giveaway, is ending tonight! I ts ending November 25, 12:00 AM Eastern Time. So if you haven't joined my giveaway yet, click here to join.

A few days back I got an e-mail from Bari Cosmetics and they sent me polishes and lip gloss.

    Here's what I received:

The first polish is Pure Ice, Lilac Mist. This polish is a shimmery pink polish with little flakes. It is pretty sheer, so on my ring finger I layered it over a white polish, so you could see the difference. I'm not sure why its called "Lilac" Mist because Lilac is purple and as you can tell this polish is a pink. But this polish took three coats, on my index, middle, and pinky finger.

Next, I layered Bon Bons glitter polishes on top of Pure Ice Lilac Mist. I couldn't find the names of these polishes, so I will just call them Purple Confetti and Circle Glitters. These polishes were really pretty, I just wish Bon Bons nail polish bottles were larger. Purple Confetti has skinny, purple and blue rectangle glitters in a slightly purple base. Purple Confetti is on my index and ring finger. And Circle Glitters is holo circle glitters in a blue-tinted base but the blue doesn't show up on the nail. Both polishes are three coats.

Next is, Pure Ice Free Fall. Free Fall is a gorgeous metallic hot pink. And this is only two coats.

And then on top of Free Fall, I layered Pure Ice Oh Baby! Oh Baby! is a clear base with tiny, tiny iridescent glitters. This polish is great for layering on top of an old manicure, to give it some shine! I have never seen a polish like this before, This was 2 coats!

The last polish I received is Pure Ice Crackle Flash. I layered this crackle over Pure Ice Freee Fall. This is my first white crackle, and I have to say this polish crackles so fast! The second you put it on your nail, it starts cracking. I just love the crackling effect of this polish, its bigger cracks and more spaced out. This is my favorite crackle polish now.

And now here's Bon Bons flavored lip gloss.
These are my lips without any lip gloss.

And here are my lips with the lip gloss, it make your lips look fuller, and gives it a nice shine! And it tastes really good too! LOL

These were my first ever Pure Ice and Bon Bons products, and they're really great products. I will be buying from them again! :D

Check out all the beauty products, Bari Cosmetics sells here.
And don't forget to like the facebook page, here.

*These items were sent to me for review for my honest opinions*

    Rhinestone Christmas Tree Tutorial!

The next design that had the most votes was....
Rhinestone Christmas Tree! To vote which holiday tutorial I should do next click here.

I think this is a very festive and bling-y design for Christmas! I'm sure many people would notice your nails, if you do this nail art!

All you'll need is a green base color, Red, silver, and green rhinestones, clear polish, and a silver striper.

First, paint your nail with a basecoat, then paint a green color, I'm using Dr.'s Remedy Essential Emerald.

Then use your silver striper and create curves around the nail, make sure they're not too close together, because you'll need room for the rhinestones.

Now add rhinestones in the spaces between the lines, to stick the rhinestones on the nail I used a clear polish and a pencil to pick up the rhinestones.

Finish, with topcoat and you're done!

If you try this design, let me know, and I'll maybe even post it on my blog, if you send me a picture!

Bootie Babe, Bootie Babe, BOOTIE BABE!!

Hello, Girls (and Guys)! Today I have a very exciting post today. I'm reviewing Bootie Babe polishes! Also check out my friend, Trace from The Trace Face Philes, review on Bootie Babe polishes here.

Before I show you the polishes, I wanna share a little of Mark's story.

"SuperBooty President and CEO Mark O’Hara wanted to create a humorous, bold
and truely unique beauty product that would literally “stand out” from the competition.

O'Hara's creative and business interests go beyond nail polish.
He states "My goal is to develop the Bootie Babe brand and manufacture a variety
of products including cosmetics, apparel, accessories, gifts and jewelry.

What a story! I was so excited in getting these polishes, when i opened the mail, I said, "OMG! My Butt-shaped Polishes came! Look, aren't they so cute!"

Bootie Babe sent me the colors Mean Tangerine, Slinky Pinky, and Lilac Lunatic. The bottles are quite small and hold .31 fl.oz. They're small enought to fit all in my hand. :) But on April 2012 the bottles will change to .5 fl.oz.

The first polish I tried out is Lilac Lunatic. ( Maybe Lilac Lunatic is a similar dupe to Revlon- Lilly.)  ;)
Its a pastel creme polish with a shiny finish, this took 2-3 coats to achieve no bald spots. Its the most opaque one I tried.

Next is Mean Tangerine, this color is my favorite. Its a neon polish, and as you may know already most neon polishes are sheer, therefore they need to be layered over white. I layered Mean Tangerine over Sinful Colors- Snow Me White. This took 2 coats (over the white polish) to be opaque.
Can you see the twinkle of the butt in this picture? ;D

Next is Slinky Pinky, a light pink pastel creme, that covered in 2 coats. I got a wonky brush on this bottle, so I'm sorry for bad application. I'm pretty sure the brush was just a manufacturing problem. :)
But anyway, this pink can be used as a base in making French tip nail art.

Overall, I give these polishes 4.9 Stars! I hope to see more kinds of polishes from this brand, like glitters, holo and matte polishes.

And guess what! Bootie Babe polishes are on sale now for only $4! This offer lasts through 12/31/11. Click here to go to their website.
